I just wanna show off my long, brown wig.
You never thought it'll look so good!
About Me
I'm forever amazed at the wonders of makeup and how a groomed coiffure can make a huge difference in an appearance!
Hence, I feel dolling myself up is not enough anymore and I feel extremely proud and happy to be able to extend my 'skills' to my friends and beyond... The sense of satisfaction is boundless.
I always believe that when you look good on the outside, you feel good on the inside.
I love to coordinate clothes, accessories, with the right makeup and hair on a person to induce a beautiful change. Males or females, it derives great satisfaction, major or otherwise.
So, I decided to set up Magic Room, combining hair, makeup, fashion, clothes and accessories tips all in one Room from what I know or researched.
If you would like to just skip to my portfolio

Sometimes, I may blog on something out of the ordinary. (Of course not forgetting the fun bits too!)
If you have any questions on hair or fashion related topics, feel free to email and I'll post it here.
XOXO!

My Halloween Affair
This year's Halloween, me and gang spent it at Zouk. Despite my numerous pleas not to because of unforgettable nightmare donkey years ago....
Why not Zouk? You ask.
1) Said donkey years ago, I went to Zouk with a couple of friends where an event was taking place (can't remember what though). It was jammed packed and I had to grip onto my friends' hand tightly so I would not lose him/her (him in front of me pulling me trying to cut Q, me trying to pull her in so we wouldn't get lost) The crowd was wild and mad, they slice through wherever and whenever they can. We got pretty squashed up!
Unfortunately, my guy friend got separated from us and he got in! We were horribly stuck outside and he can't come out to get us! Not after his successful attempt of getting in! It wasn't even free entry and the fee was mad expensive. Considering the music wasn't any fantastic.
2) Entrance fee freaking expensive for lousy music.
3) Pay 1 get into 3 places? (shouldn't be that bad right?) NAH! Velvet sucks; even worse music. Phuture? (come on! my living room is bigger than that!) forget it!
4) On top of freaking expensive entrance, there is a price increase now for Zouk. WTF.
Anyways, we still trooped off to Zouk cos the guys supposedly had reserved tables inside... Oh well, Im outnumbered so I followed.
Upon arrival, there was definitely a crowd. but it wasn't as nightmarish as I thought.
Thank God!
There was a very long Queue for the costume line as people hope to get in free when they are dressed in full costume at club's discretion.
We didn't want to get stranded forever so we opted to pay. $%^%&^&!!! $30n for girls and $38 for guys through velvet..
Paying is fine but not for lousy ungrovable music!!! ROAR!!!
OH! Hell.... Anyways, this year I decided to be a cupid. (An evil one)
Many have mistaken me for an angel.... Well I had halo and wings minus bow and arrow.... I substituted my bow and arrow for a pitchfork!! Should have gotten a bow huhs?!
Sinister makeup
Like this:
That's me on the right and Evan on the left! Mine does not look as scary as compared to Evan's! (because I wanted to still look good despite being a scary cupid)
I helped her do her makeup with reference from a pic!
Prior to that, the group of us took a super long time to get ourselves ready at Jo's place. But hey, it IS the dressing up process that makes it FUN!
Evan cam whoring after makeup.
Scary cool!!
Some of my company at zouk.
My oldest friends !! Im so looking forward to next year already!
I told you I was evil... ahhhahahhahahhaha
So called 'twin' of mine who was gyrating grostequely out of beat on the podium. She has become an eyesore after 5 mins and Jo suggested we should go up and drag her down.
OR maybe............... Poke her down with my pitchfork, considering Im her evil twin!
I was laughing so hard, tears came out.....
You can see from pic I truly am turned off and trying to bust her out with my fork!
Oh no. it is not in PEACe..... My friends say she looks too old for her dressing....... OH meanie meanie!!!!!!!!!
Hell yeah! We conquered the podium.
On to other more interesting stuff, like CAMWHORING!!!
So jealous of good quality feathers unlike my cardboard ones. *SULK*
And I stole someone else's beard and became Luciferine! (female version of Lucifer)
I love it cos it looked so WHacky and androgynous!
How about an additional moustache??
In the end, our supposedly reserved tables, which are actually 2 round tables with no seats (well? what do you expect from Zouk?) got taken over by a group of others!!! #$#%$%%$^ So much for reserved tables. No choice, apparently their liquors were bigger than ours lo!!!
*SULK*
Jealous people trying to yank my beard off!!! Buzz off !
After that it got sooo packed we were unable to move. Music was still lousy and after at about 2am, we all decided to go eat Bak Kut Teh!!
It was fun because of wonderful company!
Lets go to bigger places next time!! :D

Photo shoots
SO busy recently!
Well Im not complaining and it is DEFINITELY a good thing as $$$ is coming in.
I got a chance to work with a photographer who is into high fashion shoots which suits my tastes just fine!
So, I jus GRAB whatever chance I have to work with him. He uses caucasian models who just look gorgeous like 99% of the time. Just fantastic...... I feel a sense of euphoria after I see them all made up and dressed up in fantastic clothings and the pics turn out just GREAT.. Really. I feel so proud of me. :D
It just makes me feel Im in the right line.
Besides, I get to discover 'exotic' locations I didn't know existed that make for fanstastic shooting locations.
Hair and makeup by me
Check this, one of my favourite pics cause it's in pink and also the model looks gorgeous!Location Botanic gardens! Amazing.....
This is her second outfit with a different hairstyle.
Everytime I see all these gorgeous-ness, I dream of how it would be perfect if I had their height and figure and all those clothes!
*btw, clothes are from photographer's wardrobe. Courtesy from his mum........ ARGH sooo lucky! Not for him of cause but his sisters!!
My next favourite pic:
I just love her expression. Never in my 1001 cam whoring pics that I ll achieve an expression like that.
sighhhhh...
But if get the chance to cam whore with this hunk, it is totally worth while..... no? Look how happy I am!
and this is him in motion...
*swoon...*
Being in this line is great! I get to touch, see and sometimes criticise models who are more gorgeous than me! wahhahahah!!!
What I truly dream of is to become the hair and makeup team of America's next top models/Janice Dickinson modelling agency. They have so many artistic directions for photo shoots with the different outlooks (ultra ultra exciting) and plus! the different locations, which means there is a high chance of travel?!!!!!!!!!! Victoria's secrets are great too because of the outrageously gorgeous costumes!
Will I have this opportunity??? Everytime I watch the videos I become sooo inspired and I will daydream to no end. Sigh..................

Maxmara fashion show
OOhhhh what a pity I didn't get a chance to even get a peep at the Maxmara fashion show. All I did see was chaos backstage when the models all rushed in for the next change of outfits.
In chinese description it was like 一盘散沙.
This was a fashion show for the opening of the Maxmara boutique in Ion orchard.
Amusing nonetheless.....
I bet the viewers in front all wouldn't have known there is so much hard work behind the scenes...
The show's focus was on body suits and sequins and caps and what nots in earth and neutral tones....
You know what? I think these clothes will look so much better on these tall and thin babes!
At the end of it all, there were people at the recep giving away free goodie bags. I didn't take it until I saw my friend fish a calf leather card holder from the paper bag...
*Ting!!* My eyes turned green.
Instantly, I went back up to ask for one too! Boy, I'm so cheap skate! HAahahha But I think I do deserve it. After all, I am work personnel... And to add to the fact that I'm in the fever of studs and R E A L leather!

What hairstyles to match my clothes??
You have a dinner to attend and you are at a loss on how you should do up your hair.
Ok here's Gerra to the rescue!!
Finally she is blogging some useful tips!
If you are wearing off shouldered or strapless dress:
These dresses show off more skin on the neck and shoulders. I would recommend a hairstyle that leaves tendrils of hair hanging softly down the curve of your nice neck.
A full updo may sometimes make your neck look too long and thin.
If you are wearing a full shouldered dress:
This dress type usually always come with detailing on the shoulder area or puffy sleeves. A simple updo would be good as it accentuates the design with a clean cut feel without messy hair complicating the design.
If you are wearing a classic cut/simple gown:
You can choose any type of hair styles with this dress type. From intricate to simple, depending on the statement you want to make. Hooray!
So, the next time you are having a headache as to how you should have your hair done, let your dress style decide for you!!

Attack of the vain pot 9 - Red is for me!
It has been such a long time since I posted!!
My life is getting kinda exciting and I can't wait to show gorgeous pics of some shoots I did recently with a friend.
Anyway, this is one fantastic red dress I got at This Fashion! Who knew you can get such great design from there?
Red is usually not my colour but because of the white floral prints, I can totally carry it off perfectly!!
Look at my happy face!
Fashion is amazing and I just love love love the mix and match!

Pissed
Recently Im more involved in photo shoots and there's this one particular model, who has really pissed me off. She has only complaints and no constuctive ideas on her preferred look for her port. Her face is not that fantastic; round like moon as she whined..... Just because she has somewhat of a nosebridge, Eurasian, doesnt make her the IT model of the year...
ARGHHH!!!!!
Singapore weather is so humid and everybody knows that!! She has the cheek to stop me from using hairspray!! In the end???? Loads of hairspray is still needed for her lousy condition of a hair!!!

GH MUMM Formula 1 event
I have just completed an event assignment sponsored by champagne brand GH Mumm!
I have never heard of that brand until now! Probably because Im not a drinker of champagne...
It was one hell of a crazy event where there were 14 pax to be dolled up in the retro 1950s theme!! I had to finish all their hair in 3hrs and a half, including my partner, Siti, who is doing the makeup!
It was held at the National Museum of Singapore. Very chic and classy!
However at the end of it all, it was all worth it cause of the great sense of satisfaction and the chance to bask in the event's classy atmosphere. :)
And of cause, worth it with hot a looking model like this:

Oh Feyn!! You look HOT in that outfit!!! (literally and technically)
And we have Dawn the singer, looking all glitzy and elegant in this white outfit, prepared by Nicola the fashion designer.
Marissa the compere.
The only 2 guys for the event, Feyn and Kelvin
Me and Nicola taking a chance to take a pic for remembrance :D.
This is me doing up one of the models. Look at how I'm so totally enjoying myself!!
*Smile and say cheese for the camera!!
TADAH!!!
And she is done!!

Pic with the pretty girls.
Check out that wonderful dress and the hair piece!
OO!! I love their dresses!!
The event:

Famous designer!! Guess WHO???
OOoo, by the way I saw David Gan. Haha soo exciting!
The pretty setup:
by coveted brand
This is a party for socialites. For what purpose? I'm not sure. People like David Gan, Ashley Isham, Patricia Mok turned up! What's even better was that, just one wall over, Lady Gaga's concert was ongoing at a feverish pitch!!!
I was actually enjoying myself although I was working like crazy. We didn't have time to go for dinner at all!!! Thank God I didn't faint halfway... I only had a bowl of instant noodles and a packet of milo in my stomach all the way till 11 plus pm!!
Keeping fingers crossed for more of such event assignments to come!!

Let's talk about lips baby
Did I mention I'm a super fan of lipsticks? Especially pinkish and nudish tones. I just can't have enough of them! I probably have varying shades of them in different textures/formulations!
I'm naturally tanned and my normal lip colour often tends to look more reddish. "Heaty Red" as some people might say.
Putting on nudy or pinky shades of colour complements my skin tone, makes my lips look softer and kissable instead of overly swollen!
Did you know:
Lipstick actually provides protection to our lips and minimises our risk of lip cancer seven times as compared to men??! (University of California study)
Our lips are an extremely sensitive part of our body and we should provide proper protection for it.
Guys and girls, I strongly suggest you all invest in a lip balm with SPF to protect against harmful UV.
Nowadays, with the vast array of lipstick choices in the market, how do we know what to get?
Here's a general guideline to lipstick and its formulations:
The more pigments in lipsticks, the more drying it is.
There are 5 different lip forrmulations namely:
Sheer, Shimmer, Matte, Cream and Long lasting.
Mattes contain the most pigment and sheers the least.
Sheers
Give a natural wet look with only a hint of tint and different degress of shine. They don't last long on the lips and you don't need a mirror to apply.
Very simple and straight forward actually :)
Brand e.g. MAC lipgloss THE all time favourite!
Shimmers
a.k.a frosted with a metallic or pearlescent hue making the lips shimmer because it contains mica, a light reflector.
Brand e.g. Bobbi Brown Essentials Shimmer Lip Gloss
Cream
Gives a matt, velvety look without the heavy feel. It contains more oils and conditioners than mattes. Also commonly know as hydrating lipstick.
Brand e.g. Shu Uemura lipstick
Mattes
contain the most pigment making lip colour last longer. It gives a flat non shiny surface.
Tip: It is good to apply a layer of lip balm to moisturise the lips before applying the matte lip colour.
Brand e.g. MAC
Longlasting
Lip colours work on a time release principle. The heat from our lips stimulates the release of the colour. It contains ingredients found in our foundations, making it last. It can be relatively drying too.
Brand e.g Revlon Colourstay
With all the pretty colours and different textures of lip colours in the market, there is no reason to neglect those pouty/sexy lips of yours!
